The free tier covers up to 20,000 API requests a month with full access to search and content extraction, and paid usage is granular — $7 per 1,000 standard searches, $12 per 1,000 deep searches, $5 per 1,000 answer calls, and $1 per 1,000 pages of content extraction. Websets is separate at $49 or $449 a month. It fits developers grounding an agent or RAG app in live, citable web data. The honest caveat is that pricing rose in early 2026 — standard search went from $5 to $7 per 1,000 — and stacked add-on charges make spend harder to forecast than a flat plan.

Every account starts with $100 in free credit, which is enough to evaluate all four APIs properly, and the platform carries SOC 2, a DPA, and zero-data-retention options. It fits teams putting grounded web data behind a production feature. The caveat is that the specialised tiers get expensive fast — the Finance Research API is $110 per 1,000 calls — and higher research tiers have no published price.
